Privacy Policy
Short, and in plain language. If anything here is unclear, ask us and we’ll explain it.
What we collect
Only what you type into one of our two forms. The contact form asks for your name, your email address, an optional phone number, the service you selected, and your message. The free quote form asks for a few more things so a price can be put on the work: whether it is for a home or a business, an optional business name, your city or town, how soon you need help, and how you would like us to reply. Nothing else is asked for and nothing else is required.
Like every web server, ours records ordinary technical details of a request, the network address it came from, the page asked for, the time, and the browser’s self-description. Those records exist to keep the site working and to spot abuse.
What we use it for
Responding to your enquiry, and nothing else. A message you send reaches our mailbox so a person can read it and reply.
What we do not do
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to a marketing list. We do not send newsletters or promotional email to an address that only ever asked us a question.
Analytics
This site currently runs no third-party analytics product. If that changes, this page will name the product before it is switched on.
Cookies
The site sets a session cookie so a form submission can be matched to the visit that started it, that is what stops the form being abused. It is not shared with anyone.
A small group of cookies also remembers how you arrived, for fourteen days: which search engine, campaign or referring site sent you, and the first page you landed on. If a link you followed carried an advertising click identifier, that identifier is one of the things they hold. They exist so that when an enquiry arrives we know what prompted it. They are set on the first page of a visit and they hold no name, address, phone number or message.
If you switch the site between its light and dark appearance, one more cookie remembers which you chose. It holds one word, either light or dark, and it exists so the page you asked for is the page that loads next time instead of flashing the wrong one at you. It identifies nobody, it is not read by anything else, and if you never touch the switch it is never set: without it the site simply follows the light or dark setting your own device already has.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails stay in our mailbox as business correspondence. Ask us to delete yours and we will.
Asking us to remove your information
Email steve@pioneercomputers.ca and ask. We will confirm when it is done.
