Fixed at your place, while you watch
We work on the machine where it lives, and that matters more than it sounds. A good share of what makes a computer misbehave is the room it sits in: the printer it can no longer see, the network drive that vanished when someone renamed a folder, the surge bar behind the desk that got switched off by a vacuum cleaner. Carry that machine to a workbench and it will often behave perfectly, which tells you nothing at all.
Malware, unexplained slowdowns, failed updates, software quietly fighting other software, a laptop that stopped speaking to the printer, those get diagnosed and repaired in front of you. When it is done you are told what was actually wrong, in words you can repeat to someone else.
Nothing gets unplugged and carried off unless the job genuinely needs a bench. You keep the machine, you keep your desk the way you had it, and you never have to wonder what a shop did to it while it was out of your sight.
Book an on-site repair No obligation, and the price comes before the work.
You do not need to know what is wrong
Describe it the way you would describe it to a friend. That is enough to start, and it is usually enough for us to know whether it is a one-visit job.
- It takes four minutes to reach the desktop. It used to take thirty seconds.
- The fan runs constantly and the laptop is too hot to keep on your lap.
- A window appeared saying you have a virus and giving a number to call.
- Everything works until you try to print, and then nothing happens.
- Mail still arrives but it stopped sending, and nobody changed anything.
- A blue screen comes back every few days and you have stopped trusting the machine.
- Windows tries to update, fails, and rolls itself back. Every single time.
- You deleted something you needed, or the drive has started making a noise.
- It will not turn on at all. No light, no fan, nothing.
What you get.
Virus & malware removal
Found, removed, and the way in closed behind it. If it arrived through a browser extension or a fake update prompt, you get shown which one so it does not happen twice.
Speed-up service
Startup cleanup, an honest look at what is eating the disk, and a straight answer on whether an SSD or more memory would actually help this machine.
Windows problems
Failed updates, rollback loops, blue screens, profiles that will not load, and a clean reinstall when repairing is the longer road.
Data recovery
Deleted files and failing drives. Switch the machine off early: a drive that is still being written to is a drive overwriting the thing you want back.
Hardware diagnostics & upgrades
What failed, what the part costs, and whether this machine is worth that part. Sometimes it is not, and you will hear that first.
Email, printer & peripheral fixes
Scanners that stopped scanning, printers that fell off the Wi-Fi, and the small things that broke so gradually nobody noticed when.
What actually happens when we come out
Nobody enjoys a stranger in the house with no idea how long they will be there. So here is the shape of it.
You tell us what it is doing
By phone or through the form. One sentence is plenty. We ask two or three questions to work out whether this is a visit or a bench job, and we say which.
We diagnose it in front of you
On your desk, on your network, with your printer plugged into it. You are welcome to watch and to ask what any of it means.
You get the verdict before the work
A flat quote and a plain-language explanation of the fault. Nothing is started until you have said yes to both.
It gets fixed, or it goes to the bench
Most of it is finished on the spot. The rest goes with us and comes back set up the way you had it, not reset to factory.

On-site across Waterloo Region and Guelph
Thirty years in one region teaches you what its buildings do to computers. The century houses in Uptown Waterloo and old Galt have plaster-and-lath walls that stop a Wi-Fi signal at the staircase. Newer subdivisions out toward Breslau and Baden have the opposite trouble: a router parked in a basement utility room, three floors below anyone who needs it.
Past Elmira and St. Jacobs the connection is often the real fault rather than the computer, a rural line that gets worse in bad weather while the laptop takes the blame. Around Cambridge and the older industrial pockets of Kitchener the job is frequently an ageing machine running one piece of software the business genuinely cannot replace, and the work is keeping it alive rather than modernising it.
Wherever it is, the repair happens there rather than at a counter you have to drive to twice.

When it needs the bench, and what it costs
Some jobs cannot be done properly in a kitchen. A failed drive, physical damage, a laptop that needs opening without breaking the clips, those come with us, get fixed, and come back configured the way you had them.
The quote is flat and it arrives before the work, not after it. The awkward conversation we have most often is whether a repair is worth doing at all: our rule of thumb is that if the fix costs more than half of a suitable replacement, replacing is the better buy, and you get shown the arithmetic either way.
If replacing turns out to be the answer, we spec a replacement around what you actually do with it rather than whatever has the best margin this month. If the same fault keeps returning on a business network, the honest fix is usually networking work or a consulting look at the whole setup rather than a fifth repair.
Common questions.
Do I need to bring my computer anywhere?
What if it won’t turn on at all?
Is my data safe during a repair?
Repair or replace, how do I know?
How much will it cost?
A pop-up says my computer is infected and gives a number. What should I do?
How far out do you travel?
